Twitch Claimed Games Moved To Amazon Games App?
Need something to take your mind off the world right now? Every month, livestreaming platform Twitch hands out free games -- and May's batch is here. There are eight in all, with a combined value of $102, based on prices if purchased separately from Steam. And they really are free, though there's one notable string attached: You must be an Amazon Prime subscriber.
You also need to have a Twitch account (it's free to sign up), and then you'll have to link it to your Prime account. From there, just head to the Amazon Twitch page and scroll down to the Games with Prime section at the bottom.
All you have to do is click Claim for one or more of them, then they're instantly added to your game library -- and yours to keep forever. To actually play them, you'll need either the Amazon Games App or Twitch Desktop.
Here's the roster of freebies for this month:
- Yono and the Celestial Elephants: An adventure featuring puzzles, treasure hunts and some combat.
- Urban Trial Playground: A motorbike racer featuring stunts and insane speeds on the streets of Southern California.
- The Little Acre: A game of exploration and adventure featuring hand-drawn graphics and fully voiced characters.
- Old School Musical: An insane rhythm game that features 50 tracks, single- and multiplayer modes... and chickens.
- Avicii Invector: A space shooter crossed with a rhythm game, it was created in collaboration with the late DJ Avicii.
- Pankapu:This action platformer that takes place in the dreams of Djaha'rell, a child troubled by a tragic incident.
- Fractured Minds: This short game is an experimental art project that explores mental health issues.
- Snake Pass: A charming little physics-based, puzzle platform adventure game.
Remember to check back next month when Twitch releases another batch of freebies. In the meantime, check out the 20 other perks that come as part of your Amazon Prime subscription.
